New York Times columnist David French speaks at George Mason University on October 21 at 7:00 in an event co-sponsored by the Department of Religious Studies and the Schar School of Policy and Government. French is a lawyer, veteran, and activist whose work has focused on issues such as free speech and religious liberty. An evangelical Christian critical of the ways that a quest for power has corrupted evangelical congregations and institutions, he will discuss "Liberty or Authority? Christian Political Engagement at the Crossroads." The evening will shed light on the fervency and anguish with which many American Christians are approaching the 2024 presidential election.
