The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Nena Rogers, MAIS ’19, with the 2025 Distinguished Staff Alumni Award.
Rogers has dedicated nearly three decades to George Mason University Athletics. As deputy athletics director for student services and performance and the department’s senior woman administrator, she champions holistic student-athlete development.
Rogers has led Mason through academic and competitive success, including a term as interim assistant vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics. Under her leadership, student-athletes consistently exceed a 3.0 GPA, with more than 400 earning Provost Scholar honors since 2016.
A former NCAA champion and Olympic qualifier, Rogers brings the same drive to her leadership as she once did to competition.
Congratulations, Nena Rogers!

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences honors distinguished alumni each fall at Community and Catalysts: Achievements, Awards, and Innovations. This signature event is a celebration of alumni, faculty, and students whose leadership, research, and service have made outstanding contributions to their fields, communities, and to the university.
