Visiting Folklorist Series: Cliff Murphy of Maryland Traditions on Tuesday March 26 at 7:30 PM

The Folklore Studies Program is pleased to announce that Cliff Murphy of Maryland Traditions will be the featured speaker for the Spring 2013 Visiting Folklorist Series.  He will discuss the program's most recent projects, including his work with Singing and Praying Bands in the Chesapeake Bay tidewater region and the cultural documentation project in Dundak, Maryland and the Sparrows Point Steel Mill.  

Maryland Traditions offers Apprenticeship Awards and Project Grants, produces public events, and engages in strategic partnerships to develop a statewide infrastructure for traditional arts and culture.
