Lunch and Learn Speakers Dr. Anamaria Berea and Angelina Jarrouj

Grab your lunch and join us in-person or online as we hear from Dr. Anamaria Berea and Angelina Jarrouj regarding their current research topics.

Dr. Berea is an Associate Professor in the Computational and Data Science Department in the College of Science at George Mason University. During her short presentation, she will to take you on a journey through the human dimension of space: from understanding unidentified phenomena in our cosmic backyard (UAPs), to placing our footprint as explorers and settlers on our immediate neighbors (Moon and Mars with the Artemis program), to searching for biosignatures in our neighborhood (solar system), particularly on the icy and ocean moons of Jupiter and Saturn, to searching for technosignatures farther way, on the observable exoplanets in our Galaxy, and to creating the DNA of the stars with natural language specific techniques. Her presentation is titled “The Language of the Stars".

Angelina Jarrouj is a current student in the Interdisciplinary Studies program with a concentration in Social Justice and Human Rights. She will be presenting on her capstone project titled “Culinary Colonialism: The Role of Food in Enduring Systems of Domination"
