Jayna Tavarez received her Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Social Justice and Human Rights and a graduate certificate in Women and Gender Studies. Her thesis, I needed to use my voice as a bisexual activist, not just an activist: Bisexual College Student Activists and their Experiences with Biphobia within LGBTQ Spaces on Campus examined the challenges bisexual students experience within spaces on college campuses intended to be inclusive of their identity. Jayna is passionate about student affairs and dedicated herself to serving Mason’s Housing and Residence Life, LGBTQ Resources, and University Career Services during her time as a student.
Jayna recently began a position as a Community Director for the Residential Education department at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
